Job Summary

Elite Medical Staffing is hiring Respiratory Therapists (RTs) for hospital opportunities in Ypsilanti, MI. This position offers competitive pay, consistent scheduling, and the opportunity to work a dedicated assignment with one of our healthcare partners.

Responsibilities

An RT working contract through Elite Medical Staffing at a hospital may be expected to: 

  • Utilize EMR [PCC] to record patients' medical information and vital signs
  • Assess patients' respiratory status and perform respiratory care procedures in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols
  • Administer respiratory therapies, medications, and treatments, including oxygen therapy and aerosolized medications
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, and other respiratory care equipment
  • Evaluate treatment effectiveness and modify respiratory care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
  • Respond to respiratory emergencies and provide appropriate interventions within scope of practice
  • Assist with airway management and support diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as assigned
  • Accurately document assessments, treatments, and patient responses in the medical record
  • Maintain compliance with facility policies, regulatory requirements, and professional practice standards 
  • Communicate concerns or issues to onsite supervisor and agency
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working under an active RT license
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in hospitals
  • Must have reliable transportation to assigned facilities
  • Must maintain consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Able to push, pull, and lift at least 50 pounds
  • Able to be standing and walking with frequent bending, reaching, and lifting with proper body mechanics
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Willing to complete background and drug screening in accordance with applicable laws and regulations


Credentials Required

  • Active and unencumbered MI RT License
  • Government-Issued Photo ID or Passport
  • CPR/BLS
  • Tuberculosis (TB) Test
  • Covid-19 Vaccine (religious/medical exemptions accepted) 
  • Resume
  • Additional credentials may be required based on facility placement
