Job Summary

Elite Medical Staffing is hiring Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) for skilled nursing opportunities in Alamosa, CO. This position offers competitive pay, consistent scheduling, and the opportunity to work a dedicated assignment with one of our healthcare partners.

Responsibilities
A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) picking up contract assignments in a skilled nursing facility may be expected to:A

  • Utilize EMR to record patients’ medical information and vital signs
  • Provide occupational therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
  • Implement treatment plans established by the supervising Occupational Therapist to support resident goals and functional outcomes
  • Assist residents with therapeutic activities designed to improve performance of activities of daily living (ADLs) and functional tasks
  • Monitor resident responses to treatment and communicate progress, concerns, or changes in status to the supervising therapist
  • Reinforce therapeutic techniques, adaptive strategies, and use of assistive equipment as directed
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapeutic activities and functional support techniques as appropriate
  • Accurately document treatment sessions, resident participation, and treatment outcomes in accordance with facility requirements
  • Maintain compliance with facility policies, regulatory requirements, and professional practice standards
  • Communicate concerns or issues to onsite supervisor and agency
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working under an active COTA license
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in skilled nursing
  • Must have reliable transportation to assigned facilities
  • Must maintain consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Able to push, pull, and lift at least 50 pounds
  • Able to be standing and walking with frequent bending, reaching, and lifting with proper body mechanics
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Willing to complete background and drug screening in accordance with applicable laws and regulations


Credentials Required

  • Active and unencumbered CO COTA License or Compact COTA License
  • Government-Issued Photo ID or Passport
  • CPR/BLS
  • Resume
  • Additional credentials may be required based on facility placement
