Job Summary
Elite Medical Staffing is hiring Registered Nurses (RNs) for DON roles in our skilled nursing settings in Traverse City, MI. This position offers competitive pay, consistent scheduling, and the opportunity to work a dedicated assignment with one of our healthcare partners.

Responsibilities
An RN working a contract assignment as a Director of Nursing (DON) in a skilled nursing facility may be expected to:
- Utilize EMR to record patients’ medical information and vital signs
- Provide leadership and oversight for all nursing services and clinical operations within the facility
- Direct, supervise, and support nursing leadership and clinical staff to ensure quality resident care
- Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies, procedures, and clinical programs
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including survey preparedness and corrective action initiatives
- Monitor clinical outcomes, quality measures, infection prevention efforts, and risk management activities
- Collaborate with facility leadership, physicians, residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support resident care goals
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, recruitment, retention, and professional development of nursing personnel
- Maintain accurate clinical records, regulatory reporting, and documentation standards while supporting continuous quality improvement efforts
- Communicate concerns or issues to onsite supervisor and agency
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience working under an active RN license
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in skilled nursing
- Minimum 1 year of experience working as a DON
- Must have reliable transportation to assigned facilities
- Must maintain consistent attendance and punctuality
- Able to push, pull, and lift at least 50 pounds
- Able to be standing and walking with frequent bending, reaching, and lifting with proper body mechanics
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Willing to complete background and drug screening in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
Credentials Required
- Active and unencumbered MI RN License or Compact RN License
- Government-Issued Photo ID or Passport
- CPR/BLS
- Tuberculosis (TB) Test
- Flu Vaccine (during Flu season)
- Covid-19 Vaccine (religious/medical exemptions accepted)
- Resume
- Additional credentials may be required based on facility placement
